I'm 18, no accidents, but I'm on my moms insurance policy and she has a SPOTLESS record. She's been w/ Allstate since she started driving back when she was 18 and she's now 45. I pay $185.00 a month for full coverage, used to pay $245.00 a month, but my last semester of my last year of high school i got honor roll and it dropped it to 185.00. BTW, I feel Allstate sux when it comes to claims, just my .02 cents.

These dumba$$ insurance rates are the reason why I don't already have a 2003 Tiburon. The insurance would be unbearable. Maybe when I turn 25, and the Tib's are even hotter {hopefully} I will get one then.

technically, i dont own my car.
since im a minor, you cant have a car title in your name, so my bro signed for it but it was my 7 grand. he added the 98 tiburon to his policy with his 01 tiburon. so it looks like he has two cars.

he paid 275 a month with a thousand dollar deductible and to add the 98 onto it raised it 30 bucks. so we both paid 150 each. i saved him some seriosu cash.

BUT, i hit a corvette and it screwed us. the rate went thru the roof. and itll be like that for a while.

then a few months later i hit another car. minimal damage done to the other car but a claim is a claim.

in august allstate had this idea to charge half the 6 month policy in the first month so the next 5 months would be much less..

great idea but they didnt give a warning.

in august my bro got a bill for 940 dollars.

we were shocked.
number one "o my god thats a lot of money"
number two "o my god, they havent dropped us yet"

when it renews in feb im sure itll be thru the roof even higher bc he loses the good student discount bc he is done school.

and my high gpa doesnt mean smack bc my name isnt on the title of the car.

and drivers ed doesnt mean half a smack bc the car aint in my name and it dont help anyway bc i keep hittin all these other friggin cars.

That shouldn't matter, as long as ur on the insurance policy as a licensed driver it should matter. I've got Allstate and when I got honor roll they dropped my monthly policy from 245 to 184, and they told me if i got Drivers ED i'd get a huge discount, which i took, just the teacher was lazy and never took me out to drive, you needed 10 times out I got 2 cuz the stupid coach was always so busy .

Ha! I laugh at you.... you're still a "youngin"!...

Clinton was just elected when I was that age.... wink

Back on topic..... Insurance rates are indeed based almost solely on statistics and they are always in the insurance companys favor...

Want to lower you rates, no matter where you live? Get married Yup that will lower you rate, probably by more than half... it's all about the numbers...
