F*$kin fuel filter
Ok i attempted to change my fuel filter these holidays and all i did was managed to get drenched in fuel and scrached up.
I got everything except the bottom connection off the filter. Its a PITA. Anyone have any hints/tips on geting that bastard off?

Let someone else do it! *lol* I was gonna change mine too, but after seeing how much of a pain it was, said screw it, and I just paid my friends mechanic 40 bux and a 6 pack of brew, to change it for me. tongue.gif

Almost gave me a brain tumor.

it tell you how to do it. your saposed to mrmove a hose or someting then staert the car, let it stall then do somthing. Do'nt remember, but something about relieving pressure. Chaeck it out, it might help.

This is a universal problem with Hyundai`s!.
Luckily I had heared about it before I tried it, so I wrapped the bottom union nut with a strip of rag soaked in brake fluid the night before trying to undo it.........it works!.

I tried to replace my fuel filter too & ended up kinking the dag nab fuel line. So I had to take it too a shop & have them do it.
So, to answer the question: How to change the fuel filter on my car? Let the shop do it!!!
LOL...

man that takes me back. A cold day in the parking lot. Me under the car, girlfriend leaning over the hood. Me cussing the a$$hole who tightened the fuel filter to 120 ft-lbs. But my freakishly strong girlfriend with one wrench and me with another managed to finally get it off.
it was a PITA, but was worth it to save $80 or so that a mechanic would have charged. Now it's not on there as tight, so future changes should be easier.
