Default Engine noise!!! help

Hay people
i was wondering if you could help me with a small prob.
My engine makes a squeking noise what can it be?
Its not the sound of a belt slipping as its not that loud + i just got all the belts changed.

I think it might be the power steering pump?

It dosen't sqeek all the time just when i'm idle and only in short bursts. if i rev the car slightly it goes away. is it a bearing somewhere?

Thanks in Advance

you might want to check the tension on the belts. then you might wanna throw on some belt dressing. We have trucks a work that do the same thing you talking about.

Squeeking started after changing belts?
Squeeking goes away when you rev the engine?

Sounds like the belts were not tightened properly. Check your belt Tension like Solo-Baric said and if that doesn't work then use belt dressing.

Ok
I'll take the car back to the shop to see if he tightened it to the correct specs.

If it still continues can it be the power steering pump?

If so how much for one of those?

Cheers for your help

A faulty power steering pump will not make a squeeling noise, more like a bearing noise.

Please don't use belt dressing, this is asking for trouble and is only a temp. fix. It actually heats up the slipping belt and can cause more perisitant belt noise when the dressing has dried up, just get it corrected properly the first time.
