It has to be an OEM item before insurance will adjust.

All new canadian vehicles come with DRL's,it's the law. You can get fined if a cop notices that you don't.

hmm, interesting. when you're talking about drl's, do you mean the fog lights or the parking lights? as far as i know, you're not supposed to drive with the parking lights on, hence the name "parking lights." i was told that by a traffic school instructor (yes, i was there for a speeding ticket). eitherway, it shouldn't be too hard to wire up either one to turn on with the ignition.

DLR's are the headlights. they come on at 50% to 70% brightness anytime the car is on.

They are only north of the border. The Motorcycle lobby fought the DLR law in the USA, and won. They wanted to keep the DLR's for motorcycle's only.

On most cars, the headlights simply go "on" (100%), or very close to it, so it's hard to tell if the headlights are on "on" or DRL position. That's the case on my NX2000 and on my Tib (but I had to buy a seperate DRL module for the Tib, since I rebuilt a wrecked US Tib...).

i like them cause i do alot of driving in or about the time of darkness.....so sometimes when i leave the house it will be light outside, and no need for lights, but the time i get where i am going it's dark as hell. it just seems kinda safer cause sometimes i forget to turn my lights on untill i get flashed....
