If it shut off and did not come on when you turned the car on, I would not worry about it.

if it is still on when you turn the car back on, it could be something as simple as your gas cap not being tight enough. Check that first.

Did it blink when it came on, or just constant on?

i tried the gas cap first thing when the light came on and it did not go off it is a constant on.
there is one thing when i'm stoped at a red light and just sitting there holding the brake down the rpm meter will drop about 200rpm really fast then right back up to where the neddle was before it droped. during this it feels like the engine makes a thud noise feel. Thanks Again!

If it was the fuel cap it take the ECM a couple diving cycles minimum 22 mins for it to recheck its emission system and it everything is ok it will clear itself.

B4 you go running out and replacing your tranny or your tranny computer..let's check the basics.

Tranny fluid level. And when was the last time you replaced that fluid?

Oil level? When was the last time you changed your oil and filter?

Wiring? If you have any mods, did you bump or rub up against some wiring? Check all the wires in the engine compartment around the tranny for rubbing, and make sure all the connections are snug.

i have heard the service manager talking about tranny computers just what he said was crashing on some cars, just a lil food for thought, but always take stuff like that rite to the hyundai dealer i made that mistake when my dad decided to take my car to his mechanic to get the suspension fixed after i went "off roading" in my tib when i was run off the road by a DD, anwyas 2250 bux later my ass was bleeding, the gouged us with the prices they charged and i still dont understand how they said i ****ed up 2 wheel bearings, and 2 rotors, and all this other dumb ****, when all that was wrong was the front passenger tires was mis aligned, and the car drove 60 miles home fine

well just got my car back from hyundai and what was wrong was the spark plug wires where shot and because of that the ignition coils where damaged and also had to be replaced the bad thing is that this wasn't covered under my extended waranty and cost me $371.12 but i'm just glad my car is fixed.
