alright, will do. and a HUGE thank you to pointing me toward hyundaitechinfo. I found two diagrams that, together, let me know what the deal with the plug was, and I believe I wired it correctly. I'm gonna double check, though.

I have a friend bringing over a multimeter tomorrow and some other diagnostic stuff, and I printed out all the tests for charging system stuff. Gonna go to home depot and grab some proper gauge cable and eyelets in case I need to fashion a new battery cable. Gonna replace everything I possibly can at this point.

Everyone should have at least a crappy made in china multimeter. They're cheaper than the cable you are thinking of buying, from any auto parts store. And if you do end up replacing the cable . . . IIRC there's a fusible link in the battery cable . . . at least put a fuse on the new one!

This might be a dumb question, but the new alternator came withe a new negative terminal bolt on it correct.

Did you put the terminal on and then put a bolt on top of that?

If it dosnt looks the same as what i took off a car thats what i look into first.

OK, I need some serious help here, and if anyone is online plz help. I took a multimeter to everything in there, and every single fuze and cable is in good condition. I finally diagnosed that it HAD to be a bad voltage regulator on the alternator itself.

I think I mis-wired the plug. I got a new alternator sitting here. What I need to know is on an RC ('07-'09) tiburon, which wire is which on the plug connector on the alternator? If someone could either tell me or just pop outside and look at theirs, I'd be eternally grateful.

I need to get the car working tonight, and I'll be checking this like a hawk.

Thanks in advance.

You mind giving me a brief explanation of what the voltmeter and ammeter are doing there?

Also, any idea where those two fusible links are?

Go to hyundaitechinfo and look where I have indicated. It is a testing procedure. They're showing you where to hook up for the test they are talking about. More to the point for the current discussion, they are also showing you which terminal on that 2-wire plug goes to what, which can be sorted with any ohmmeter. The fusible links look like any other bit of wire. Checking the wire where the link is will tell you if (continuity) the link is good or (open wire) bad.

WAIT...shouldn't the wire connect to the positive cable on the battery? the eyelet on the alt is for charging the battery.
