1.8 semi-header help
I recently aquired a 1.8 manifold, the semi-header thing, well I got everything together including gaskets and whatnot, cleaned it all up, ported and polished the inside ends of the manifold a bit, and used a hone to smoothen the surface of the inside out, gave it a coat of black thermal paint and the damn thing won't fit. I have a 98 2.0 auto and as far as I was told the manifold does bolt up to the car. How is the cat(s) and the o2 sensors on the 1.8 car. I was under the impress that the 2.0 had two cats one close coupled and one under the car. I only have one close coupled cat with and o2 sensor before and after it. The 1.8 manifold is about 3-4 inches to short and only has one o2 sensor bung. I'm kinda puzzled. I know people have done this as a relativley cheap alternative to headers (can't afford them right now), but I have no clue on how to make it fit and what to do about the o2 sensors and the cat.
I've never heard of anyone doing that swap, but i know the cali emissions tibs, and tibs from other countries have slightly diferent exhaust systems, some have 2 bolt, some 3 bolt flanges and i guess diferent bolting points.
