Are you Diurnal or Nocturnal?
Was reading this little gem:
http://www.bbc.com/travel/story/2015...-without-night
About living in the Arctic Circle where there are months of constant sunlight and months of constant darkness. I work the night shift here in the States so sleep cycles/activities come up somewhat often in our conversations here on the graveyard. Was curious what some of you guys thought of it.
Personally I think I could handle the dark months a lot better than the pure light months. Here, I have a giant black quilt that hangs over my window so even at high noon you can't tell its light out in my bedroom. But what gets me is when I wake up and it is light out. For some reason I like to sleep in the dark, and I like to wake up in the dark. Daylight (especially when I am actually working a night shift) kind of drains me, makes me feel tired and slightly depressed. I've always been a night owl for the most part.
Some of the day workers tried our night shift, and absolutely could not handle it. Where I would be full of energy at 2am and ready to go, they were crashing hard, even after a few days of adjusting their schedules. They just could not for the life of them operate at night time. I found it really strange.
What are your thoughts? Impartial? Diurnal? Nocturnal?
