Default Wisdom teeth

I have to get my wisdom teeth out next week. All 4 of them. im really nervous and not feeling too good about it. I opted to be completely knocked out because i dont want to hear or see anything that they do. Dental stuff freaks me out really bad. has anyone else had all 4 of theirs taken out? how was the recovery?

I've never had my wisdom teeth (dont have to, since they're not effecting anything)...but I've heard both horror and good stories. Its a good thing you're being knocked out though because having all 4 out wont be much fun. Plus the sound of the drill and teeth breaking will probably be enough to make you stay away from the dentist forever. From everything I've heard...just take care of the wounds properly after everything, and you should be fine. The dentist will probably give you some good drugs to deal with after too. You'll probably be eating through a straw for a couple of days afterwards also.

Good luck!

I would not recomend having all for out at once, 2 at the most and do them on the same side of the mouth. You will want to eat sometime. I have had 2 teath pulled at once. One on each side of the mouth, eating was a b*tch. Also had my top wisdom teeth pulled. Bottom are impacted but the dentist asked if they bothered me. I said no so he said leave them. Its not that bad.

I had all 4 out at once and also opted to be knocked out. I probably started remembering things about 10 hours later and took a lot of naps. Lots of blood. About 2 days in I was eating, carefully, but eating and about 4 days later I was doing good.

It's not bad man, just roll with the punches and you'll be over it.

Had all of mine out at one time, with only novacaine and Laughing gas. I had a smile from ear to ear and the dentist and assoc. were cracking up. I had no swelling and only a little discomfort. I've seen people swell up like a chipmunk with it's cheeks full of seeds.

I would recommend you eat pineapples or drink pineapple juice the day before you go into have the teeth removed. This will help the gums to heal quickly and so you don't taste blood all day. Ask if you can drink fluids right after having teeth out and if they say yes, drink more pineapple juice. If you are on blood thinners you can't eat or drink pineapples. Typically this only applies to the very old as they are on these types of medications.

All 4 at once for me as well. Sore for a couple days, but no biggie. Personally, I think 2 and 2 would suck more, as you'd have to go through the healing twice, but I could be wrong. Get them all done at once and move on. The knocked me out and the next thing I knew, I was being assisted back out to my wife's car, lol.

I only had to get my top two removed. I do not have bottom ones at all. I was knocked out. I remember them injecting me and I was out. Next thing I know, I'm drowling on the car window. haha. Also every time I get knocked I always have some kind of really bad nausea 12 hours later. It happened with my wisdom teeth and my other surgery. That sucked. Throwing up and trying not to rip open the insicions in my mouth.

They think they have a 50/50 chance of breaking my jaw when they take out my lower wisdom teeth and my upper ones will have to be dug out to be removed, so even though they give me trouble I still have them all. I've got to go to some specialist oral surgeon so it's going to be a lot of money, even if I get dental insurance.
