I'm working on building strength and muscle. My new year's goal is to enter in an amateur figure competition this year, I've been weight training for years and have finally gotten the courage to compete on stage.

I've become a gym junkie myself, just joined one on in Jan. I want to get rid of my beer gut and generally feel healthier. I'm at 180lbs right now and not happy. Last time I did this I did p90x and got down to 160 in a few months, but it all came back really fast. I want a routine more than a fad workout, and going to the gym feels really good. I like being productive with my time so working out, getting all sweaty and sore is refreshing.

I've never been one for those fad workouts like p90x. Weights and cardio has always worked well for me, whenever I get bored I switch up my routine and try new equipment. I'm working on being able to bench my own weight right now, the best I've done is 105 for 4 reps. Anybody take any supplements? I've tried creatine and pre-workouts in the past but I've found that protein shakes and BCAAs to be the best way to go.

I've taken dozens of supplements over the years. I've gone back to just a fat burner and proper diet. I wasn't a fan of most supplements like jack3d or nitrox, but I probably wasn't pushing it as hard as most. I'm a fan of VPX products but sometimes I'll grab some Cellucor. I prefer to get my protein through diet, but I've enjoyed Isopure and love some Extreme Milk Chocolate Optimum Nutrition.

I did something called Whole30 or some sh*t, some diet my wife found. Pretty much a strict paleo diet for 30 days. Never paid attention to calories/fat but tried to only eat organic/natural stuff - chicken, venison, pork, fruits and veggies, sweet potatoes, eggs and bacon. No dairy, no breads, no wheat, nothing with sugar added or sugar in the ingredients.

I lost 15 pounds without exercise, and I ate all the time. High protein, low sugar/carbs.

Just staying healthy. Hoping to drop another 15 pounds before pool season and vacation. Going back to strict paleo for March and dropping another 5-10 with cardio.

Ran a 5k this morning. Just staying aware of what I'm eating and enjoying life.

Oh, stop.

My plan is to brush the dust off and maybe use this $3k carbon fiber sculpture in my living room as a bicycle.
