Default successfully canceling a Ballys membership

Hey, has anyone had or has a ballys membership that they tried to cancel or had problems canceling. The feince` signed up for one against my better judgment and the contract is almost over and ive read horror stories about canceling them or not enacting auto renew features and the such.

Anyone else deal with ballys?

I heard it can be a nightmare also. How much longer do you have to go on the contract? Might just be better to wait it out if you only have a couple of months. If its that little of time, I would call them now and make sure they remove your membership at the end of the contract. Last thing you want is for it to auto-renew.

ya something about 6 months about. so i wanted to start with the anti auto renew stuff...already going to write letters to the credit card places in case they dont understand not to renew and we have to put stop payment on them. they like to send people to their collections company. so im going to put them on alert firsthand and hopefully send them a copy of the contact showing how long it is an such.

i've dealt with them before but only about signing up. their people are trained to trick you to keep signing up. luckily me and my buddy didn't want to pay the down payment or the expensive 3-year membership, or their discounts and cards. it took maybe 45 minutes of the guy trying to convince us to stay to realize he wasn't catching any fish.

that alone scared us away, because you might end up with contract problems later but that is beyond my real of knowledge. i do know that all of my friends who used to go to Ballys moved to Gold's.
