P90x
Thinking about trying it but I’m skeptical. Has anyone gone through it all the way and seen actual results? How quick do you start to see results when you begin and are a fat ass like myself? Is it mostly cardio and make you lose weight or do you build muscle too?
high intensity interval workouts and muscle confusion. Yes, you build muscle. Yes, elevated heart rate. Yes, it kicks your ass.
It's effective as anything else as long as you stay with the program. I believe it gives a lot of emphasis on nutrition as well. I can't see any negative effects of trying P90x. Be willing to put yourself through hell for 90 days in exchange for a massive body change... just keep the mentality of staying fit after the 90 days so you don't gain it all back.

I always laugh when I hear about products to lose weight. Sure they help, but there is no secret to getting fit. Eat well, no junk food, and exercise (ANY exercise, even just walking for an hour or so a day). It's not easy to stick with and it's super easy to cheat but the results will show if you stick with it. You're best bet is to get a friend to exercise with you and motivate each other.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I did it! My results were maybe not typical. Ie, I did not look like Arnold afterward! LOL! But, made a huge difference in my waist, went from 38-40 to 34. Biggest thing was my fitness. After 2 rounds I went riding with a friend who bikes daily. I was outpacing him! Definitely worth it. You only get out what you put into it though.
There are other options than P90x.
I use BodyRock.tv or I follow Zuzana Light on facebook (she was formally with Bodyrock). The key to any get in shape program is Diet, Exercise and staying with it for an extended period of time. Both of the fore mentioned are free and the ladies are crazy hot.

P90x is a great work out. I've lost 25 lbs and 2 pants sizes in 2 months on it. It is a complete program, not just some crazy supplements to make you lose weight. Anyone saying that has no real knowledge of the program(s).
Do not be afraid to give it a try even if you are just starting out. It is easy to modify the workouts until you get stronger and build your flexibility and stamina. they do a great job of showing how to do that. You can do it easily at home with some dumbbells or bands. It kicked the crap out of me the first couple weeks, but now I have lost some weight, and way more flexible, and feel great.
The advice about getting a workout partner is excellent advise! If you do not have any friends to workout with, join beachbody.com, which is free, you can join workout groups with people that are on the same program with you and track your progress, have some accountability and encourage each other. Even if you do not do P90x, find something that motivates you to get active and get in shape and stay that way. You will be happy you did!
