Looks like it will be possible for two men (such as a gay couple) to have biological offspring in just a few years.
Will conservatives' heads explode over this?
Early experiments with mice have shown that both sperm and eggs can be generated from the stem cells of males, and eggs from that of females, and that they can be fertilized to produce viable young.

I'm pretty sure the Designer doesn't care for it very much, but there are a bunch of non-Conservatives who won't like the idea of sticking children (biological or not) with a demographic with as bad a set of statistics as the gays have.

^^^ Hahahaha!!! Google it... Gay couples have higher incomes, higher education levels, less break-ups, more stable careers and lower rates of substance abuse or domestic violence than straight couples.

Yea but you seem to forget there are way more staight couple than guy couples so its very hard to compare the two when averaging the percentage...just a thought...

Google it? Okay, fine. These are all first-page, often first-hit results on google searches. Dig it.

Regarding pay, if you search for higher or lower, you get 180 degree opposite answers so YMMV on that one!
Searching for "Lower":

Searching for "Higher":

Note that, in stark contrast with the "lower" search, only the first hit is related and the next ten results are about HIV/AIDs and Paris Hilton (?)

Note the statistics used in this article are non-existant, vs. some pretty serious amounts of numbers in the first google hit for "lower"
some of the comments were useless, but this was a pretty good one
Better educated:
The closest I found to a study correlating gays & smarts was not the most scientific thing ever, and my skimming of this article says it was CHILDhood smarts vs. adult homosexuality, and the correlation is much closer to 0 than to 1

The "more stable career" part had too many spurious google results for me to bother going through, but I buy that about as much as the other claims.

But here's the real problem: be as queer as you want, but don't mess up the next generation please.
Unfortunately, the actual study is behind a $31(!) paywall ... on topic for the thread:

General statement of the findings
There are two ways you can describe the findings of most of the research on the topic:
Weak statement: Neither gay males nor lesbians earn more than straight people.
Strong statement: Gay males earn less than straight males, often much less. Meanwhile, lesbians earn more than straight females.
Both statements are the exact opposite of marketer’s claims that “the gay market” (less often, “the gay and lesbian market”) is “lucrative” or simply rich.
In case you aren’t clear on what I’m saying: When marketers tell you the gay market is a rich or lucrative one, they don’t have any evidence to back it up. The evidence shows the opposite – at least for gay males, the group they’re really talking about. Put harshly, they’re lying.

They earn more, save more, have less debt and are better prepared for retirement
the results are based on an online poll. I would assume that individuals responding to an online poll would typically be more educated and make more money than the national average.

... small positive correlation between estimated IQ and self-reported homosexual behaviour or identity.
main problem with this is that the effects are very small. ...IQ in childhood was correlated with later adult sexual identity with a coefficent of 0.013... but the association of homosexuality with political attitude (liberalism) of 0.613 ... Multiplying by the SD of the variables in question, which is one way to correct ... gives a coefficient for IQ of 0.202 and for political attitude is 0.468....

Gay men face considerably lower wages than their heterosexual colleagues and are less likely to be in work,

Three large, well designed studies found that gay men and lesbians attempt suicide two to seven times more often than heterosexual comparison groups.

"20 to 30 percent of gay and transgender people abuse substances, compared to about 9 percent of the general population."
"gay and transgender people smoke tobacco up to 200 percent more than their heterosexual counterparts. Additionally, twenty five percent of gay and transgender people abuse alcohol, compared to 5 to 10 percent of the general population."

A new study that finds children of a gay or lesbian parent may be more likely to have social and emotional problems

"Gay couples" (who are the ones who would be having children), not "gay people", who you include in your data search. Oh, and the FRC... That's like asking Nazis about the social contributions of Jews.
Gay singles tend to be more promiscuous than straights, but gay couples are more monogamous than straight couples.
