So just curious if anyone will be getting either one of these this year. I have never gotten a shot before, and dont plan on it. I think if people just take normal precaution, they wont get sick. What are your thoughts on it?

IMO for a healthy-ish young person the risks outweigh the potential benefits. Even if you get the flu it isn't that big of a deal.

My pharmacy is offering flu and swine flu shots. However the swine flu vaccine is not available yet.

Because of my depressed immune system, Flu shots always make me sick. I just avoid anyone who appears sick.

Talking with a pediatric nurse "They've (manufacturer's of the flu shots) only ever gotten it right once"

Flu shots have been available for decades...not very good getting it right only once. Flu shots are the best guess at what it might be.

Hundred's of thousands of people have been affected/infected worldwide by the Swine flu with a little over 3000 deaths associated with it. Where'as the common cold kills 30,000 + every year, according to the Fox News Doctor on Sunday's.

I won't be getting either the flu or swine flu shots.

No, but I probably should be. I'm on some pretty strong immuno-suppressants.
