Default Anyone use melatonin for sleep?

I sometimes have trouble getting to sleep, and staying asleep. I tried melatonin last night for the first time, and slept pretty well. I had dreams that were more vivid than normal, but... this could be associated to just random variances in quality of sleep. I'll try it again tonight. Anyone else use melatonin?

It's a natural supplement. You have to take it consistently to really see results. I know quite a few people who have success with it. The fact you got a good night's sleep the very first night could be a bit of a placebo affect. But....if that placebo affect got you better sleep, I say why not!!

It worked really well for me for a couple of months, then stopped helping.

Melatonin is a OTC drug. Remember be very careful taking hormone drugs. Its a hormone that is produced by the pineal gland aka The Third Eye. Remember when taking synthetic hormone drugs theres a possibility your body may decrease production of melatonin. Melatonin is also produced in plants where it functions as a first line of defense against oxidative stress. Try to consume foods rich in melatonin such as banana, pineapple and orange, eat these things at least 3 times a day and your blood levels of melatonin should increase significantly through out the day.

I've been taking melatonin for years and I have good results with it. I personally take it about 30 mins before I go to bed and only on nights prior to working the next day.

It's also recommended to not use a mobile device around 30 mins before going to sleep. The blue light that's emitted can mess with your sleep.

I started taking it and I have noticed a difference in how fast I fall asleep and how long I stay asleep through out the night.

My wife and I take when we want a good sleep on the weekend, also give a small amount to our dog as it suffers from anxiety and seems to take the edge of her.
