I'm thinking about taking lessons. Anyone else here do it for fun/fitness?

If you're going to get beat up for fun, at least make it a martial art where you can actually win a street fight with it if you had to. BJJ is high on that list.

i once took up boxing when i wasn't as busy as i am now.



It was loads of fun and was more challenging than i thought.

3-minute rounds were surprisingly tough and provided good cardio.



being able to properly work the speed ball for the first time was also very satisfying.



i'd say go for it

If you're interested in boxing, I suggest Muay Thai. I really enjoyed it. If you want a ground game Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is a great addition. I did a bit of that but I got hurt A LOT compared to kickboxing.
