So I've been going at it a good 2+ months now 6 days lifting ~5 days cardio and my body is telling me to slow down. What do you guys think is better, going in lifting light a couple days, or just taking maybe 3-4 days completely off?

I'd say lift when you can and do cardio when you're sore. Try some walking, stationary bike with light load and swimming.
