willwood by precision brakes (big brake kit) *update 3/31*
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Another problem that you will probably run into is wheel fitment. I personally can only fit a number of 17" wheels onto my car. The Konigs for one, will not have enough clearance to fit over the brakes although the higher brand wheels such as Ray's Engineering (volk, g-games, etc), and Racing Hart should have no problems. </div>
^^^Umm...yeah...seriously...shouldn't that be the problem of the brakes rather than the companies? Bolt patterns are all standard...if only "some" can fit on and some can't...then it's most likely the brakes...

hes saying higher brand(and higher cost) wheels are made to accomodate bigger brake kits while most other lower brand wheels may not take big brake kits into consideration when designing their wheels. bolt pattern isnt the problem, its offset, wheel width, backspacing, etc....
tibby's right. Look at the way MaierApril's wheels fit around the brakes... I could imagine problems arising from other wheels. The picture posted is with 17" wheels, correct Maier?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (majikTib)</div><div class='quotemain'>is it the rotor or the 4-piston calipers that are in the way?</div>
Duh... that was stupid the way I phrased it. If the rotor is too big, the caliper will be in the way...
what I meant was, is it the size of the 4-piston caliper that's the problem? Would a smaller size caliper be possible without drastic reduction in performance? I wouldn't think so, but if we could make the rotors like 12.5" instead of 13" I don't think there would be much loss in performance and it would allow more room for rims...
has anyone actually ever seen a rim not fit because the big brake kit was in the way?

Sorry, but I feel your wrong.
Yuri was the first person to get this kit for his car and he had Konigs. Because there wasn't enough clearance to clear the brakes he had to ditch the Konigs and get the Racing Hart Z5000.
Not all wheels are created the same. Different wheels use different manufacturing techniques and design specs. A wheel made by Volk and the wheel made by ADR or TSW, although both 17" wheels, will have different inner wheel clearances.
For instance, when I had the Racing Hart Z5000 wheels and these brakes, the clearance between the caliper and inner rim was about 1/2 a centimeter. With the Volk wheels, the clearance was actually double that.
Ask for the total size diameter of the bbk from precision and measure that size in the wheel that you intend to use the bbk with.

Unkay, he had Konig what's? Mine are Traffiks, and looking at them, the entire wheel except for the hub is away from the calipers and disks.
I don't see how one brand wheel will fit and one wont. That's a blanket statement. Now, if you say Konig Triumphs or whatever, that are smaller than 17's, I'd belive it.
I'm sure Racing Hart and Volk make some rims that wouldn't fit this kit.
See what I mean?
If I get some 22 inch Konigs, this will fit. I even think if I had 17's or 18's it'd fit. I'm not getting this kit, but still.
