Whats involved for installation?

 

^^^Extremely easy. Remove the shifter surround. Unscrew the 4 screws holding the stock ring in. Replace with new ring using new bolts and nuts. Also, you would need to drill holes in the plastic where the other 4 bolts will go. It doesn't need to look pretty cause it will get covered.

is the rd2 surround a direct swap into an rd1, just pop it in?

ill probably be in on this to, i dn if i should get this or gauges first

 

I want in on this too, but will not be able to do anything until the end of the month.

As for the RD1-RD2 conversion, I think you have to swap the whole dash out otherwise it will not match up to the shift surround.

 

I think youre right Java. Ill try to put my rd2 shift surround on the rd1 if i think of it and just check

Actually, according to LARRS, if you did the 8 bolts, 7 of the holes will line up and you'll only have to drill one through.



And yes, if you use the RD2 Shifter surround on a RD1, it'll WORK, but it won't match up perfectly because of some curves where the stereo surround hits the shifter surround. Sand it and paint it, swap the dash, what have you.

 

I'm sure the payments will drag out til the end of the month. As long as you're sure you'll have the payment, I'll put your name on the list.
