If you had your choice of having either a pit or a lift in your garage to do your own mechanical work, which would you prefer?

Lift! So many more options, so many more options.
Hell, there are tons of market solutions out there right now for people that can't even fit a traditional lift. A pit can't really (justifiably) be added to a structure. The cost is way too exorbitant. It's great for basic maintenance, but pretty useless for anything else.
