Well, since "Aim for the same spot everytime" was an option, I'm applying this to work. We have a 4 level parking garage for our building, and I always park on the 3rd level. The 2nd level has a crosswalk bridge to the building, but all the executives have reserved spaces on that level, so I park on the 3rd level next to the stairs - making it the closest spot possible (in my eyes).

However, when I'm at the mall or large parking lot that increases the risk of inadvertent damage due to shopping carts or inebriated individuals, I park at the safest location possible: away from most cars, away from cart returns, away from handicap spaces, and away from trees or powerlines (bird bombs).

I pick any spot but I check out what's going on there first.

Sometimes furthest away to burn extra calories. lol...

^ I would never target a car for destruction, vanadlism, or anything hurtful... but if I did, it would be the Honda Civics and Toyota Carollas that do that. Other car owners would probably put Hyundais into that list.

It's a little different than a $90,000 BMW, Aston Martin, or finely detailed Porsche.

I see where your coming from, but there are NO other cars in the lot i park in. Its easily a 1/4mi walk to the door. I'm referring to my local walmart which is really the only place I take my car besides work, which is a shop so there's not much traffic in the back lot. Otherwise I travel in the wife's cobalt to keep mileage down

ah... any wal-mart parking lot I've ever been to has always proven to be a 1/4 mile walk from the car. I hate going there.

You missed my habit... Out in the back 40, away from everyone and on an end spot. I hug the line on the outside of the end spot so that when someone parks next to me, they can swing their door all the way open without hitting my car.
