1. I hate the backseat design, and wish it was a hatchback. The back seat is not functional. I would not let anyone over 5'1 ride in the backseat for more than a mile or two, as it just isn't safe. Yet, if I want to remove the backseat, there isn't a convenient plausible way to do so (unlike the RDs). Removing the back seat would just leave a ledge, and it would look like I removed the backseat. I can't make it a platform or extension on the trunk like you see on RDs, it's just all around useless.

2. The price of aftermarket parts is stupid high. The cheapest exhaust is around $850, and that's a catback. Throw in a downpipe, midpipe, test pipe, and you're easily over $1,200 for the cheapest full exhaust (many upwards of $1,800. We're talking about bent 3" metal, right? And $400 for LED tail lights that leak... and a PLASTIC grill for $200? Really.. come on now.

3. The ridiculously underpowered engine, and lack of direct injection. The damn Sonata "family car" is faster than Hyundai's "luxury sport car" ?! Really?

  • fwd
  • auto tranny-when I swap it out I think i'll take it to the desert and shoot it

Crap gear box in general

Mine is rattley and sounds a touch cheap when cruising around smashing into bumps.

It's not a genesis

1. Stupid cup holder

2. Stupid coin holder

3. Stupid resale value

-There was no other way to design it. It was either include it or not. I prefer include

-The coin holder was a seat heater intensity switch (with 2 switches in the second slot), until they got rid of it last minute for markets other than UK,AU,and Korea and instead put a stupid coin holder in.

-If the resale value wasn't sh:tty, I wouldn't be the first one of my friends to be driving a nice fully loaded hot car while my friends drove drug smuggling run beat up toasters.

2)FWD

3)needs suspension mods (on the way)

-Shifter bushings and base bushings. They really make a difference + easy to install.

-No other way to sell the car, it had to be that way.

-Have fun!

-There is a new one coming as soon as next year, it should be DI. It's a business model, start low and increase car's lifespan with upgrades so people keep buying it. I suspect this is also the reason they put that cheap sh:tty front bumper in too so that when they do get around to upgrading, it will look completely fresh.

1. I hate how it's not the F2 widebody (if it was, tire size/rims could be great instead of rice). Plus you'd have a killer sports/rally car with a good tuning base!

2. I hate how heavy the trunk is with the Shark Wing on. The Shark Wing is OEM, it should have been made of carbon fiber. In 1999, Hyundai used carbon fiber on their concept cars so it was being used anyways.

3. I hate the short gear ratio. 1st gear barely exists, almost useless. 6th gear is missing.

03 Accent-

Hate the crappy factory paint. I have to repaint everything on the car that's plastic. Hate how high the body sits on the chassis compared to other models. A Civic at my ride height would look slammed but I don't even though I get high centered on speed bumps. Hate that the trans would grind going into 2nd basically from day 1.

01 Accent-

In addition to the stuff with the 03, I hate that the wipers make an audible click when the wiper relay trips. It's stupid, and annoying.

1. The rattles. Oh god, the rattles. Guess the subwoofers really don't help, though.

2. The rust. I spent a fortune getting it repainted and now every spring I have to bring it back in for some new spot that's rusting.

3. Cost of aftermarket parts. $850 for a new plastic front bumper, seriously? Availability of other aftermarket parts is pitiful.
