Just a curious question.. is the 1.5L alpha motor in the x3 Fuel cut or rev limit from the ecu?

I was always under the impression that when one hits the "rev limiter" the ecu stops the engine from revving any higher by cutting fuel which basically means they are the same thing.

that's just something i remember (possibly incorrectly) reading a while back.

The other way to limit revs is of course cutting spark. If that is what you meant by rev limiter then no, hyundai uses a fuel cut and yes it is controlled by the ecm.
