Well I just decided this year I am not going to do NOS. my Tib is not totally stock engine, I have a cold custom home made intake. It looks like it works.
I had a slow reaction time though

Reaction----------1.307
60 ft -------------2.394
330 ft-------------6.752
1/8 ET ------------10.359
1/8 MPH -----------68.40
1/4 ET ------------16.004
1/4 MPH ------------85.71

I just now switched over to my winter car, and I plan to work on the tib engine this winter.
I recently finished building the tranny (new CM Flywheel and stage 1 CM clutch), now I can concentrate $ on the engine, race again in the spring and see what I get.

-underdrive pulley
-header, Hi flo cats, CF muffler
-Cam shafts
-Throttle body
-and do some porting
-ignition

I also am re-upgrading the suspension (coilovers)
and adding cross drilled rotors and good pads.

With good tires in the spring I think my time will drop some (im pretty sure it will!). I want to know what an 03 Tib will do though?

Peace in the east

Bloody hel you lot cannot drive out there, come to the UK.

If you run anymore than 15secs for a 1/4mile then you feel ashamed.

Once my Accents finished (2months eta) I will be running sub 13s everytime, if pushed should get 12secs @ 115mph.

No offense dude, but lets see a time slip for your times in your car and a dyno to back it up.

not a prob, but if you read the post it says ONCE the car is finished i.e the engine put back in the car, I will have it dyno tested. No offence taken, I no that it could sound sus. Just making a point of how far us Brits go to get the faster cars ever. As seeing as there are hardly any Brits on the forum, I thought I better back-us up.

dyno and slips will be posted. Watch this space.

One thing you should keep in mind. The best Hyundai the UK can get, the F2 Evo, was only capable of a 15.2 1/4 mile time in magazine testing. We get crappy gas, an extra cat, and 13 less HP. So for a bone stock tibby, a 15 would be a near unbeliveable time.

The drag strip that I frequent is at 3000 FT, and has average temps in the 90's F. That sort of hurts 1/4 mile performance. Granted, Red has managed some GREAT 1/4 Mile times in Roswell, at over 5000 ft...so more than likely I just suck at drag racing! tongue.gif

Nah, my ONE single good time was in Wichita KS at essentially sea level; I've never pulled any good times up here in the mile-high atmosphere. Roswell is only around 3500 feet; the Albuquerque track (which has been closed for like a year sad.gif ) is around 5800 feet.

Nevertheless, I really don't recall the Brittish being any sort of powerhouse country for import drag racing. Maybe I'm missing something?

That being said, 270 in an Accent should be enough for 12's if you can get traction. Is this a BETA swap, or are you sticking with the 1.6L DOHC Alpha engine?
