Default Pricing Opinions

I was just looking for some feedback on an asking/selling price for my 2000 Tiburon. It has 106k miles on it, and everything runs fine except for the trans(auto), which won't shift past 3rd gear(60m.p.h.). It also needs paint.

New tires, battery, front axles, fuel filter, short air intake, head gasket, rotors and pads.

Auto, leather, sunroof, CD/cassette, tilt, power windows and locks.

I just took it to hyundai to get it inspected and the emissions passed but they wouldn't give the inspection sticker because of the trans. I can't afford to put any more $$$ in to the car so I'm trying to sell it.

I appreciate any input you guys may have.

New tranny plus a paintjob are 2 items that will greatly reduce your asking price.

I doubt you'll get more then $1000 for it if your lucky.

That's what I was thinking. A $400 junkyard transmission might more than pay for itself, but it would definitely increase the chances you could sell the car.

Have a cheap Maaco paint job and it'll probably pay for itself also. Just do some prep work yourself before taking it

I'm running into the same thing - bad tranny, but good paint job on a 99 Elantra Wagon. Would love to get $800, but would settle for $500 if necessary.
Going on eBay by the weekend.
