An Odd Question
So this may seem like an odd question but since this is the only place I know to get info from knowledgable people I decided to try here. I was wondering if the cigarette lighter plugs in cars are the same voltage/amperage as a car battery. The reason I was wondering this is because I want to be able to set up a plug in my trunk so I can have a little plug in cooler for drinks. I would assume it would be good enough to just run a fused wire to the battery just like an amp but I thought I would ask for any tips first.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
I know people who have ran an extension socket from the cigarrette plug to the trunk to do the same thing. You'll be fine as long as you put an inline fuse in place so you dont kill the rest of your electrical system if something bad happens. Also, make sure the cooler isnt anything too crazy or you will put a major strain on the electrical system as well. The best thing to do however, is to get current converter and plug in your cooler that way. Good luck! smile.gif
