Hello
Anyone know anything about this product? I have an old laptop that just runs a FTP server allong with torrent downloads. I think i can use it allong with this tool to read trouble codes allong with other info from my ECM.
Does this look like it would work well? As I don't have much experience with this side of things.

Yeah..that'll work, but you need the scan tool software obviously. *lol* You may want to check what the requirements are for the scan tool, since if you're laptop is old...it may need to be upgraded for everything to work smoothly.

I think he still does, but you'd have to send him a PM on RDT or somewhere he goes. I don't think he's come over here yet.
For $70 you can get a regular hand held code reared and scanner. There are advantages to a laptop based scanner, but for me I decided a hand held dedicated unit would be better. It's just another option to consider.

i just placed a order for a "proscan"

it's more than a odb-II software on your laptop, it has abilities of data logging, freeze frame data, o2 sensor testing, dynometer and is also a performance meter..screw g-tech
you can do dyno runs by driving your car and erase check engine codes..what could be more fun?
and the proscan can save you ton's of cash..instead of fixing your car based on guesswork

Jay-M's scanner works like a charm over multiple cars. You will either need a serial port or a USB port type. He carries both and also for the ubergeeks bluetooth versions. If you decide to go with Jay-M, the communication is Great, you get basic support (will answer many questions) and a good product. The bundle of software has multiple tools. Anything the ECU sees you can see with his product. Just wanted to give you some feedback on Jay-m's product since i have one and love it.
