Default NooB question. Radiator hose.

My upper radiator hose was warm and the bottom one was cold. is this normal?

hmmm never checked that stuff before but make sure it aint cloged or stuff

Yes...Return is the top and the output is through the bottom where is should be cool going back to the engine...the pump pumps the hotter fluid to the top where it flows denser (colder) through the bottom hose...hope that make sense

How long did you have the engine running before you checked? Because if your return is cold after idling for a bit your thermostat might have gone south(seized) Might want to have a spare gasket on hand and open the thermostat housing to check it.

It has been running for 20 minutes but the weather outside was 29 F. The top was warm and the bottom cold. No fans were running.
