Default Hyundai re-sale value.

So I'm buying a new vehicle. I want to trade in my 07 Accent and 04 Accent.... I was offered $3750 for BOTH cars. Dealer told me "That's Hyundai". I didn't expect much for the both of them on trade, but $3750! Really?

My question is - Why would anyone spend apx. 30K on a Sante Fe or Tuson when in 5 years it will be worth under 10K when you can buy a Honda or Toyota for apx. 30K and have it be worth 15K or more in 5 years!?!?! Hyundai's upped the price on all their models over the past 7 or 8 years yet their re-sale value has stayed the same (shitty). And that's true for pretty much every model across the board.

I know some/most of you are going to disagree with me, but Hyundai has lost my business.

This is what I'm looking at getting:

Question 1: Are you trading it to a Hyundai dealer? Because it sounds like you're dealing with a Honda nutswing.

Question 2: Why are you even considering that shitty sum? When my 07 got wrecked, 8 months after I bought the thing, it was valued just slightly more than I owed which is unheard of. Unless it's in ass condition, the 07 alone should command 4.5k. Sell it for 6-7 independently and be smart if you really want to dump it.

My plan is to sell my 04 privately for 4 or 4.5K (it's in showroom cond with a few small mods and never winter driven) and trade in the 07 and demand 4K for it, equaling an 8K down payment. The 04 was previously for sale a few months ago for 5.5K and I had someone interested but she couldn't sell her car for the cash to buy mine. (she was looking to downsize).

I want a base model 2WD CRV but they apparently don't exist despite being able to build one on their website? I drove to 3 different Honda dealerships tonight and found NONE. Only AWD models that list for 3 - 5K more than a base model depending on options. Seems fishy

I'm so fed up with car's in general right now, I'm ready to buy a bus pass.
