If you could build your car right now to have any number of horsepower, what would that magic number be? Some people probably would say something crazy like 1,000 hp, but realistically something that insane wouldn’t be easy to drive on the street with regular traffic.

I would probably say, 325whp. I would never need more than that commuting to work.

I don't understand the question. If I wanted a fast car with as much hp as possible, I would not have purchased my Hyundai. It's fun modding and tuning, shooting for new numbers and trying to beat what's commonly attainable by other people.

You could build an 800hp Supra, but to me it's more fun to build a 400hp Genesis 2.0T. I would like to see 400hp in my Genesis.

2,000 HP.

But not at the sacrifice of having a vertical dyno readout. More power for free is great, cool, if someone wants to hook me up with a 300 shot of NOS from an unlimited bottle I won't mind.

It really depends on where you are racing, your gearbox ratios, fuel capacity, desired weight balance, CofG height... a million things.

at 300 hp now,and pretty content with it, drivability is near perfect with coilovers, lsd and zero torque steer..eboost makes street driving and racing a snap!...but..400 hp would be sweet !......I would very much like an 800 hp genesis though !!

Here is my step by step list for how much horsepower makes me happy:

Step 1: Add 20 horses to the motor

Step 2: Remove 50 lbs from the car

Step 3: Be satisfied with the cars performance

Step 4: Wait a week and remove Step 3 because it is all LIES!!

Step 5: Go back to Step 1

Step 666: Engine or transmission blows up. Or car has been wrecked and can't be fixed. (Try to skip this step)
