hey i am in the process of installing my SS but for some reason the brass U shaped pieces that hold the cable to the plastic arent coming off...what do i do!!!??????

Try a really big (wide) flat head screwdriver and just pry them off.

The b!tch is putting them back on!

I used a larger pliers and pulled straight up. the trick is to remove them while the base plate is still bolted down. It makes it MUCH easier.

Putting them back in you just line them up and tap LIGHTLY on them with a hammer.

If you need to, you can use the plastic base plate as leverage to "pry" them up with the pliers. Just grab the "lip" of the U shaped pieces. do NOT grab the sides of them, as that just squeezes them tighter.
