guess who's back?
Its been a while, haven't owned a hyundai since 2006 and a car since 2009... decided that's enough dead of winter riding for me as my wr250x has been my sole transportation. Just wanted a beater as I still plan to ride most days.
Lucky for me, I found a red 97 accent 5spd hatch down the road from me for cheap. Seems I can't quit these things.

Thanks folks! Its weird to be driving again, I'm not very smooth shifting yet and seem to forget needing to use the clutch a lot, its amazing how much you forget not having driven a 5spd since 2009.
Baby's gonna need either new motor mounts or control arm bushings (or both) as she pulls to the left under decel and the right under accel, but I got the wipers working with a fuse change (still need to get the washer fluid pump working now). Also needs a valve cover gasket and I should probably do the timing and serpentine belts sooner than later, otherwise it appears to be in great shape. Runs like a champ, stronger than my other 1.5L cars were from memory, doesn't smoke or noticeably use oil, clutch feels strong, a/c blows cold. Thankfully it seems that someone in the car's past cared for her as its obvious at least some of the maintenance has been kept up on.
For the new guys, I used to be a moderator on Hyundai Performance back in the day, and used to race my 98 Accent in SCCA Solo in FSP:
At the Solo Nationals in Topeka:
