From last Labor Day through this weekend, gasoline and diesel prices have come down noticeably and the trend is likely to continue.
Labor Day Gas Prices Down 6% From 2012
Americans will pay considerably less for fuel this weekend than they did last Labor Day. The national average price of gasoline is down 6% or 22 cents since then, a period where hurricanes and refinery shutdowns resulted in higher prices, and diesel fuel costs 4.3% or 18 cents less, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
