Can anyone tell me what their first experience in an SCCA event was like? Or racing in general, I'd like to know! I, myself, have 0 experience and really hope to get involved; despite all the obstacles I hear of, so I want to know how others felt in the beginning.

 

I was very nervous. I went with an acquaintance who had done it before so it was a lot easier. People are pretty forgiving of newbies not knowing what to do. You could actually just go and ask anyone where to go. At the entry there will be someone with waivers to sign that would direct you on where to park and who to talk to for registration, then they can explain what to do at the registration table. Anything else should be answered at the driver's meeting.
