Default Edmunds.com: Now is the best time to buy a new car

Shopping for a new car? This is a great time to slide into the driver's seat, according to Edmunds.com.

Analysts there say late August through September is when you'll find the best combination of discounts and selection. Dealers are clearing out 2013's to make way for 2014 models but there's still plenty of 2013 inventory.

You could wait for 2013 prices to drop some more but then your choices will be more limited.

FYI, in case anyone was looking to pick up a new Hyundai!

Used cars will go down in price too. Not just newer ones.

I'm currently looking at a Volt, Fusion Energi, Focus ST or a used C6 Z06. I know, that's kind of an odd list, but not sure if I want a sportscar and keep the Civic as a DD or get a super efficient DD and keep the bat-sh*t crazy 300whp Colt.
