Do mechanics ever give you a hard time if you bring them your own parts?

Have mechanics ever given you a hard time about bringing your own parts? Have they ever complained about customers not bringing the right parts and that's why they are hesitant to do stuff?

I'm in a situation where I can get the parts for a ton less than the mechanic, however if I go to the mechanic, he's gonna up the labor charge so that he makes money on the situation. I realize he can't do this for nothing, but I can't burn a total hole in my wallet at this present time. I'm just wondering if there is a way around this: Are there mechanics out there who are cool with you bringing parts? I'm getting the general sense that I will have to bite the bullet and pay up to have this sort of stuff done.

The way around it: do it yourself.

You may find a mechanic who will let you bring in parts. They won't warranty any parts or labor you bring in. If they break a part installing it (it does happen) you'll have to buy another part.

Mechanics have to make their money some how. So if you bring parts in, they will just inflate the cost to install it since it may be a part they are unfamiliar with.

MEINEKE SUCKS. Don't go there.

I do it all the time and the labor costs don't really change. Took me years to find a decent garage thou. FYI I go to a Nissan garage with my dad's dodge and my Hyundai.
