crank swap from 1.6 into 1.5.does it work?
Does anyone know if the 1.6 crank is the same as the 1.5 one from a 2001 accent.have spun conrod and main bearings but have a 1.6 litre crank available.Should I use this or get the original machined and use that?

Probably get the 1.5 crank machined man
It is possible to swap from 1.5 dohc to 1.6 dohc by simply swapping the engines and keeping the original flywheel and crank angle sensor. I would be skeptical about putting a 1.6 dohc crank into a 1.5 sohc block - the deck heights and conrod lengths are probably all wrong.

I agree with Wheels. But If it was me (live in uk) Hyundai was used as a disabilty car for the government meaning we have alot in the yards and engines are cheap. I'd swap the whole thing completely with a low mileage lump if u have the money. If not machine it.
