Picking the wrong color car can cost you.
Auto research firm Kelley Blue Book says white cars may sound boring when you're looking for the right car, but they're likely to bring you more money at resale. Black and silver vehicles also have better residual value.
Kelley Blue Book recommends staying away from oddball or fad colors, like orange or brown.
Car colors typically don't affect auto insurance rates, but some suggest red cars pull in more attention from traffic cops which could cost you if you get pulled over.
