The gist of the DIY is to remove the vent valve from the canister, loop the hoses and leave the electrical connected so you don't get a CEL.

I have a few good DIY's still there. The pics are all dead 'cause they were hosted on my server, which I no longer have. I was going to put them here, but many of the pics are just gone.

You should move them here for the people that matter.

As of right now, there are 3 times as many people online at hp.com than here. People don't post over there anymore but it's a GREAT site for searching old threads and doing research. I'm a mod over there (the only mod left I think), I keep the spam from building up and answer the odd question when it gets posted.

Most of those people online are most likely robots or spammers though since its an Autoguide site.

Ok, so last week I removed the charcoal canister, looped the send and return lines together, left canister close valve plugged in, secured it to the chassis. The CEL just came on today.

If I remember correctly you need to have one way check valves to prevent the CEL. I did mine about 10 years ago but don't remember the setup. Check valves on 2 of them maybe. I bought everything I needed from my local fish pet store.
