1.gif to replacing the sensor and going from there.
If I replace the sensor it will just get chewed up by the crank.

Well I know the verdic, the bolts or something that hold the sensor is got sheered off.
Going to be 1,600 - 2,000 to fix.

How much would a shop charge to replace an engine then?
I can not do it myself since I do not have a garage and or engine hoist.

since there's only one mechanic/shop that you trust, I'd ask them. "If I supply an engine, how much to swap them?"
Can you do the work yourself to strip the turbo goodies off and put them on a new engine?

Without access to a shop and tools, you are pwnt. This will probably start in the high $$$ and might range as high as the mid $$$$
Are you SURE you can't get it done yourself? Maybe you should start a thread with a call for help "looking for knowledgeable members in (my city) willing to wrench on my car"

I think you can loan an engine hoist from Autozone.
I don't have much experience with swapping an entire engine, but I could come by one day (in a weekend) to help. I at least did my own clutch and tranny swap so I can definitely help with that. I can of course also help with the turbo parts and where everything goes since I put those in smile.gif
There are a few threads on beta 2 swaps (later tiburon and elantra engines) which are supposed to be a little better (and of course newer), and may be easier to find one. The transmission is already a beta 2

This is the description they gave me on the quote. The pickup wheel bolts in the crankshaft snapped. The crank needs to be removed and the snapped bolts need to be drilled and tapped. Then I need a new pickup wheel and crank sensor.
