I seriously doubt you could get into the 13's with Nitrous, or even a supercharger unless you wanted to go 100% race with the supercharger/body mods. for a 13 second tiburon, you are going to need a turbo charger.

My first question for you is how much money do you have. You will need at least $5000 to get into the 13's, probably closer to $7000.

1st gen tiburon- reason why ive done these mods is im still doin research on how to go about everything. i dont want to waste money on a CAI if im goin turbo, etc things like that. thanx, any imput helps.

random- lets say money wise $7K-$10K. i've read alot of your posts, and others by doing searches. im just wondering what parts to start getting and how to go about it all. its easy enough to get an all wheel drive eclipse or supra and go 13's but i'd like to be able to do it with my tib. im not asking for a full blown 10 second race car. id just like to have a dream street racer. reading all these previous posts and it gets confusing on which parts to peice together and to make it all work. also even where to go for the best products for the $. but realistically id want to spend $7K at most on the parts alone ( if possible) the rest of the money, or whatever more id have to scrape up would have to goto mechanic fees. luckily i have some good friends that can do some of the work mech-wise.

i just think it would be a good way here to get it out if someone wants their car togo this fast, for this amount of money, this is what you should do. now i dont want to take the fun out of tuning etc but i have way too many gaps in what things to get. this way im curious on how other people have done it, or would do it.

Okay...here's the list as I can think of things at the moment. This count installation labor unless noted.

Stronger Half Axles $500
Limited Slip Differential $850
Stage 3 clutch $450
Turbo Manifold from Champion Korea $350-$400
Blow Off Valve $120-$250
Turbo $200(used) $2000(new) depending on type/size
3" Custom Exhaust $500
Forged pistions $500-$600
Crower Rods $600
Ceramic Coat Pistions $200
Deburr/minor reshape combustion chamber $300-$500
Port work/3 angle Valve Job $350-$500
Flow coat/heat coat valves $200-$300
Ceramic Coat Intake Manifold $200
Intercooler $75 (used) $500 (new)
Custom made intercooler plumbing $300-$500
Ceramic Coat Intercooler Plumbing $300
4 Larger 800cc Injectors $750
HalTec EK6 with 3 Bar MAP $1000-$1200
HalTec Install $500
HalTec Tuning $500

Top Price $12,100
Low Price $8745

(You could probably get into the high 13's with out the ceramic coating stuff, but to hit 13's on a daily basis, it would probably be needed.)

There's probabably some things I left out that I'm sure red will add/correct me on. The above setup should be good for 500 HP to the wheels, which shoul propel you into the 13's

Random,
plain and simple, you rule.
just off the top of my head, with 800cc injectors, i'd have to get a larger fuel pump/fuel lines. and have them bore out the block, to about 2.2L or 2.4L? now this is the fun part, finding the parts, the people to do it, and the $$$... just thinking about 500hp puts a silly grin on my face

Well here's the deal. I have either purchased, or have a price-listing for nearly every part you need for a sub-13 second Tiburon. Here is the full breakdown, based on prices that I have researched.

I am not including the cost of any labor that I cannot do myself (I can install a Haltech, I can assemble the entire motor and transmission, but I cannot bore and hone my own block). I am also not including the cost of my spare motor (you don't necessarily NEED one) or the cost of my spare transmission (you don't NEED one of these either)

-Motor Mechanical Assy-
Pistons: $475 (2618 Forged Steel, 9:1 Comp, includes pins)
Rings: $75 (Molybdenium compound, custom matched to pistons)
Rods: $675 (4340 Billet Steel, includes studs)
Adj. Cam Gears: $120 (hard to find, hard to tune)
Cams: $330 (242* int, 287* exh)
Head Prep: $650 (reshape CC + ports, texturing, radial valve job)
Block Prep: $100 (bored, decked, honed, dipped)
Rotating Prep: $120 (hispeed balance of rotating assy)
Block Rebuild Kit: $400 (all bearings/gaskets/seals/bolts)

-Transmission Mechanical Assy-
Differential: $1200 Est. (Quaiffe autobiasing unit)
Clutch: $450 (CM Stage 3, RPW Cerametallic, HVE Brass Button)
Chosen Gearset: $300 (Replace 1st/2nd/4th/final)
Cryogenics: $150 Est. (cryo-treat gearsets+input shaft)
Halfshafts: $550 (guaranteed 300WHP or better)

-EFI / Ignition Systems-
Computer: $1050 (Haltech E6K, harness, 3-bar MAP, shipping from AU)
Ignition: $300 (MSD DIS2)
Pump: $225 (Bosch 255lph)
Injectors: $750 (RC Engineering 850cc/min)
Pressure Reg.: $150 (Venom, adjustable)
Spark Plugs: $10 (NGK Copper, 2 ranges colder, gapped to 0.035")
-Turbo Assy-
Turbo: $1500 (your choice: VF-34, TD03/04e, GT25xx)
Intercooler: $500 (buy used, rebuild at local radiator shop)
Manifold: $350 (your choice: Champion, Onpol, custom??)
Wastegate: $300 (TIAL adjustable)
Charge Pipes: $300 (MIG/TIG weld mandrel bends from JC Whitney)
Charge Hoses: $100 (section of silicon hose, about $5 an inch)
Blowoff: $50 (Buy it used, not a difficult device)
Downpipe: $50 (Muffer shop: 2.5" mandrel custom)
Exhaust: $500 (Muffler shop: 3" cat, 3" pipe, glasspack)
Oil Lines: $50 (Steel braided 1/8th NPT fittings)
Coolant lines: $25 (Silicon is expensive)

-Suggested Gauges-
Manifold Pressure: $150 (I'm using a VDO vac/boost gauge)
Cyl Head Temp: $150 (Autometer 140-330F)
Exh Gas Temp: $125 (Autometer 600-1600F)
Oil Press: $175 (Autometer 20-100psi)
Oil Temp: $150 (Autometer 140-330F)
Fuel Press: $175 (Autometer 20-100psi)
Air/Fuel: $400 (Greddy calibrated semi-wideband, accurate to 0.1A/F)

-Misc Equipment-
Intake Manifold: $175 (give Onpol your stock manifold)
Throttle Body: $150 (whatever TB you prefer)
Hose Clamps: $50 (Hose clamp EVERY air line in the car, tightly!)
Engine/Tranny Mounts: $250 (build your own set of polyurethane)
Battery Relo: $100 (Get a kit, move it to the trunk)
Fire Supression: $25 (A fire extinguisher is a very good idea)
Laptop: $300 (Buy a 486 for cheap, used to access/manipulate the Haltech)
DC/AC Inverter: $50 (To power your laptop hehe)

The end, for now...

This is a fairly comprehensive list, and essentially everything here is what you need. You can skimp on gauges, you can skimp on turbo equipment or rods, you can pretty much skimp on whatever you want. The cost is very significant, especially if you cannot do any of this yourself.

I'm probably going to save $5000 in labor costs doing it nearly all myself along with a good friend... The spare motor and transmission also means downtime on the car is to a bare minimum: I can build up the new motor and tranny in the garage, then swap them into the car when I'm ready.
