That is because the Matiz uses spares for wheels.. it was just cheaper for them to stamp another alloy out instead of making a steel version.

Also the gas tank is tiny and mounted longitudinally (10 gal tank) so the spare tire well actually protrudes past it, offering it some safety.



I just thought it was funny. I thought it was an exception, but no, one of the first things I did at a Korean junkyard was check other Matii for a similar configuration - When they had alloys on them, alloy spares. When they had steelies on, steelie spares.



My gf's is the same.

They still trade as Deawoo in korea? Over here, GM tried to sell more by rebranding them, as Chevrolte.

Yes, those college educated people at GMs marketing division realy thought European drivers would be fooled into thinking the Matiz is cut from the same cloth as the Corvette.

I could get them from allegro.pl, but I am not going to Poland for my vacation anymore, so I will either hope to see a Polonez in Viet Nam and lift the badges (unlikely), or simply make the templates and have a vynil shop in Korea just print them.
