Rd1/rd2 Equal Length N/a Headers
Thanks for the quick response Chris. I too believe that the 3 bolt designs have the cat positioned farther back (meaning there is a longer flexpipe). At least it looks that way in the pic of the GT header. Looks like I will be torn between getting this header or the GT. I can't wait to see some pics though. Unfortunately, if the GT GB starts up before this header is completed, I (and some others), might wind up going with it instead. If you could post up ANY pics, even of the beginning stages of the header, that would be awesome. I would really like to get yours as they are ceramic coated, but it is just that we don't have any true eta on them. I know you have been totally cool having your car in the shop for so long trying to get this done for us, but we want to see SOMETHING. I mean, no offense, but these might not end up being completed for another 2 months the way this shop has been acting. I know this is not your fault, but it is just that many people have been waiting a LONG time for this and no progress has been shown. Just my .02
Thanks again though for you continued dedication mang, and I really don't mean to offend you in any way with this post, just being honest and telling you my opinion.

guys...LOL. as far as I know the 3-bolt 2-bolt crap as NOTHING TO DO with us...
It is true that SOME (rare) RD2's has catalytic convertors that had a 3-bolt flange on one side and 2-bolt on the other. Personally, I have one. (Because I chose to).
BUT, it is ALWAYS 2-bolt on the flex-pipe/down-pipe side and it changes to 3-bolt on the EXHAUST (cat BACK) side...
It's not 3-3, it's 2-3 and all we need to worry about is what is on the ENGINE side of the car (since the headers will come with a downpipe). So, ALL of the sets FlyRyde makes should be 2-bolt (at the correct angle for a proper connection, preferrably with 2-bolt gasket's included...wink1.gif )....
Someone please pwn my ass and correct em if I am wrong. But I just saw TWO RD2's this past week with the 3-bolt cat's. Both had 2-bolt connections from the headers, and 3-bolt connection AFTER the cat (on the EXHAUST SIDE), and I currently have an aftermarket hi-flow cat sitting on my desk MADE for an RD2 with a 3-bolt cat....and again, the 3-bolt is on the exhaust side..
So Unless I'm Wrong.....all of these headers/downpipe flange should have a two bolt connection compared with the angle of the stock exhaust.

Personally, I'm gettin' a little antsy in my pantsy for these to come out. If these aren't done by Spring Break, unimaginable amounts of shit are going to be hitting mutiple fans simutaneously. lmao.gif
..seriously. nono.gif

LMAO, then there is no argument here. Someone should have discovered this before.
Unless a catback exhaust comes with these headers (complimentary for the wait? shrug.gif wink1.gif lol.gif joke.gif), ...there's nothing to worry about, fitment wise.
ALL kits should be 2-bolt.

I thought that some tibs had a 3 bolt flange between the STOCK cat/flex...
so, being that headers use a different flex, if the header flex pipe had a 2 bolt on the end where it would attach to the stock cat then do you see the problem?
it's the same problem some people have if they get the obx ebay ones, how could you possibly think this would be any different? (unless flyryde includes a cat)
correct me if i'm wrong, but isnt this how it goes?
aftermarket header
flange
aftermarket flex
flange (some are 3-bolt some are 2) *heres the problem*
stock cat
flange (always 3 bolt)
rest of exhaust...cat-back.
