The shark fenders should have been done like a year ago, lol. But the prob has been my mold on the OEM fenders still is having issues. I think they've basically said F-it for now. It sucks, but I dont know what else to do. I've done everything they asked of me to get this done, and I'm left with a LOT less cash, and nothing to show for it. I'll bug em about this today as well as a slew of other things.

Any more news on this Chris? If this is going to be a dead thing, I'll just take Redz's style fenders as long as they are VDI compliant. Still need that VDI from you too man!

The VDI kits got me feeling like a bandit. They should have been out months ago. I'm really sorry its still taking so long. The fenders are on hold right now. They basically need a whole new fender to work with unless they can doctor up the ones I gave em. I'm going to see what we can do about it next time I see the fenders. They said they want to put a grip of bondo in them, and then while wet strap them to the car, so they'll dry hard and rigid. Then they can mold. Thats costing tons of cash though, so we'll see.

Well, I guess if these wont be done before spring and the other fenders will be AND they are VDI compliant AND I have my VDI before spring, then I'll give up on these totally and take the Z style fenders or whatever Redz is calling them. As long as neither fenders are done though, not having the VDI is no big deal. I wont install it until I have SOME KIND of fenders to go with it, be it the widebody or Z style. I only pray that I have both by my birthday in March though. It would make a great present.

Thats a big help man, but I think I'm going to get a loan and pay off all the kits I owe you guys. In that case, it should be very soon. And unless its of some prob to you, I'll just ship them out, and then the fenders when they are available. Thanks a ton either way, I owe you one.

I saw my widebody fenders just sitting against the wall in a hallway at Import Trenz. I'll level with you guys.

The first thing I need to do is get some OEM fenders made in fiberglass. Now that sucks because most people have NO reason to buy fiberglass fenders, unless they want bolt on fenders that work with vertical door kits. The only kit that they'll be garunteed to fit will be from VDI.

Now the reason I need a mold for OEM fenders first, is to ensure PERFECT fitment on all fenders produced thereafter. That means we could slam out a new style fender in about two weeks, AS MANY FENDERS AS WE CAN DESIGN. That's damn cool.

So I need fiberglass OEM fenders to take the existing widebody fenders and make the two pieces ONE PIECE. This is because MY fenders were from a test run of 10 fenders or so from Shark Racing way back. I saw fitment at the shop and it was HORRIBLE. They NEVER fit right, no matter how nice they looked molded to my car, they weren't nice. What came from SR sucked major ass, and only due to the hard work of my bodyshop did they come out so nice. LOTS AND LOTS of cash and time went into getting em perfect on my car... oh well now huh? lol.

Anyway, the fenders were chopped at the bottom so they could be seamlessly molded to my WW skirts. So if I were to try to install my WB fenders as they are now, on a stock tib, they'd never look right. I have to take the existing WB fenders, and completely shave the fender side until only the flare is left. I basically have to make a flare out of a fender. Then that flare needs to be molded to a perfect fitting OEM fiberglass fender. THEN, we mold that combination of the flare and OEM FG fender, and we get PERFECT WB fenders that work with VDI kits bolt on. No other WB fender will work with the VDI kit, that I promise. But I want WB CF one off fenders to match my one off CF type S bumper, and I cant have my VDI kit unless the fenders are designed with them in mind. So this is for me in all honesty. But it'll help you guys in my quest to finish the body work on my show/race car.

Now lets talk numbers.

Step1. A mold just for OEM fenders and about 10 of those fenders will be required to start this. That first run of fenders will need to be paid for up front by me. So if you take that number (which I'll keep to myself) and set it aside, we can figure the next part.

Step2. Molding the shaved flare to a set of the new FG VDI fenders. Thats another 100 bux.

Step3. Now taking the new WB fender making sure it works with the VDI kit no prob, and then doing the exact process as step1.

We're talking a cost of thousands for me, plus I'd have to stock 10 OEM fenders, and 10 WB fenders.

I can do this ONLY if we figure out who's paid for these, like I know for sure Tre has, and then getting another 10 guys who need either OEM or WB fenders that work with VDI kits, or who just need em.

Thats EXACTLY where we are at friends. Not easy I know, but this is what happens for quality parts to be made available. I could do things cheap and easy, but then we'd have low quality products, and I wont stand behind that.
