Tom will be happy to read these posts. And I think we've given enough time to really get down on some new parts. Hows this guys. I'll shoot this idea over to him. I'm going out of town on the 25th, can you guys believe its been a year since my wedding? Man what you learn in a year, lol. So I'll be away and I can leave the car with Tom for a few days, hows that?

Meanwhile, I have traction bars sitting here, 4 sets of em. They're GK bars though, so no worky on RD.

As far as my shifter, its like this...

SO of all people, RANDOM, lol, took a short cut when him and Sonic did the auto to manual swap. This goofball rushed the job, and instead of cutting out the hole for the manual shifter linkages, he just widened the automatic single slot through the firewall to accomodate the wider double shifter linkages. So what was happening, was every shift was like a brick wall before it went into gear. It was pinching the linkages. But I managed to make a day out of the project, pull the dash, console, all support bars, blower motor for the vents (which spilled all the damn coolant inside the car!). I got it all out, and I fixed the BS and ran the cables how you're supposed to. So now its all straight, but I think I've had so much damage to the sycros, that its F-ed up now.

That, and I think the shifter plate is mounted about 1 inch too far from the dash. So I grind 2nd, and 4th when I do quick shifts. I have dont damn near everything I can to fix the shifter issues, but I'm still having issues with quick shifts, otherwise the shifting is fine if I'm just driving up the street nice and mellow.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

about the bushings. When before it did a grind and fought me on the shift, now it just slams right into gear, even if it does a quick grind sound as it comes into position. It actually helped me so much I can chirp the tires again, only with a quick grind sound, and maybe some smell afterwords. Plus I have a big ass square hole in my firewall, and I can feel my shifter all hot in my hand even it the A/C is on, and its 60 degrees outside. Like a little hot wind tunnel.

Anyway, I want to know soooo bad how these things help you guys with non-bootleg auto to manual swaps. I knew I should have helped these guys when they did the swap at Randoms house, wink1.gif

Have you sent out the bushings and stuff? Cuz I still haven't gotten anything from you. I bought the bushings, fuel line adapter, and fuel rail relocation thingamabob.

I shipped out all the bushings on monday. I had to pick them up Friday from Tom, and while I was there he messed with my car a bit.

I'm not sending the fuel rail accessories yet, as they're not going to work with what he has now.

But the good news is that we're getting tons of new goodies from APE. I have my 1 year anniversary on Sunday, and I'm going away for a couple days. So I'm dropping off my car on Friday with Tom, and he'll have it until Wednesday at least. So that'll give him a good 4 days to get measurements taken, rip the car up, etc.

I also have 2 intake manifolds, a fuel rail, a throttle body, 4 injectors, and the stock FPR for him. He's using all of those for new goodies! So check your mail, and we'll have more coming to you soon. smile.gif

got my bushings today, and installed it right away

i must say, now i can feel Honda-like rock solid shifts every time i shift into a gear.

after i installed RSide advanced short shifter, i could still feel sponginess when i shift into a gear.

these bushings completely got rid of that sponginess!

I saw the pics and all, but where is the work area? Is this right by the shifter or like the engine bay or something?

The pictures are showing the area on the top side of the transmission in the engine bay.
