Wonder how easy it would be to build this

In NY, you have to have both front and rear plates on the vehicle. My front plate is actually attached to the radiator, since I have the wide front opening on my bodykit. So I saw this:

And I'm wondering if it could be made easily with parts from Home Depot. I'd love to be able to slide it under the bumper when I'm at a show or something. huh.gif

You could make one, but for $55 it'll probably cost half that in materials and the time spent designing and building it isn't worthless either.
I would build one if I wanted a project, but if I just wanted a plate that did that I would buy that one.
If I built it I would have a locking pin that went full width of the plate and you would pull it and lock it below with that pin. I wouldn't make it slide because that's a complicated mechanism to get to work on a one-off item.
