Default Winter protection?

What does everyone do as far as getting their car ready for the snow/ice/sand/salt?

I'm looking for something to protect the paint mostly.

Lay on an extra thick coat of wax, and just never buff it off.

Seriously, a good wash and wax job should take care of the exterior. If you can arrange to be parked in a heated garage at one point midwinter...give it another wash and wax.

Also...keep it as clean as possible, don't let the salt/crap stay on the car. Yes, I know how hard that is, I used to live in MN...and keeping a car clean in -20 weather with sand and salt on the road sucks rocks.

Yeah no doubt about how that is difficult.

I've heard something about sealant wax that may help also. Any recommendations?

Dude, use Zaino on your paint. Give it a coat now and it will still bead in the spring! www.zainobros.com for the info. smile.gif
