I have this kit, that I'm going to install in my RD2:

Apparently the max current draw will be 20A, according to the specs listed there. Am I going to need a relay kit for this?

Not if you have a fuse you can use for it. 20A isn't that much, and 3A is nuthin'

I was looking @ my fuses last night, and there's an empty spot where my ABS fuse isn't, if you wanted to make it REALLY clean. It's a little more hassle to open up the fuse box & wire it in, than just slap a relay on there, but hey.

edit for the headlights, there is already a fuse! Duh. If it's fused for <20A it wouldn't be a bad idea to use a relay but depending on how long it pulls 20A, you might get away with it.

i'd get a relay kit. it will keep your fuses from burning when you accidently leave the car off. make sure you get the right relay, because some clips might not be able to connect. relay install is easy.

relay install is easy.

Si. Figuring out where to run the wires is the hardest part.

Well I was gonna try and take a shortcut and skip on the relay but now that I remember the 20A peak current, I'm just gonna use one

If you want to be one of the cool kids, you could use a solid-state relay.

I've never touched the headlight since I bought the car - do I need to remove the bumper in order to change the headlight bulbs?
