Default Whats a good process for applying touch up paint?

I bought some touch up paint from the dealer thats in a small tube. Ive seen some people put touch up paint on chips, and it just looks like they put a blob of paint on their car. It doesnt look smooth or blended in properly with the rest of the paint. I dont want this to be the case when I put my touch up paint on the car. So does everyone have a quick tutorial or DIY on how to do it so it looks good? Thanks.
