It depends on how many layers or paint/clear coat you have...

Usually on stock paint... its not much so most wont touch it...

If you are hard set on car shows.. you might wanna consider getting a new tone of paint or getting some kind of kit and paint the whole car... you might not have much luck showing up stock...

ok,get you about 24 terry cloth towels, and all Meguiar's stuff now this is what i do and how i do, how to use it. when you see my paint u will know.

use the terry towels one for one to avoide getting dirt back on the finish

1. Start: rinse first then wash the car in the shade, if its hot to the touch then dont wash move it into a shady spot, get u 2 buckets one with soap and one with clean water. now dip the sponge in the soap and start from top to bottom. when you must get more soap " rinse your sponge then dip it in the soap bucket. then dry your ride

iteams need 2 buckets, sponge, and terry towels, Meguiar’s Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner

2. PREP: Clay bar time this make it surface smooth as hell, do the whole car. wax on wax off grasshopper, use this Meguiar’s Quik Clay Detailing System safely restores a smooth-as-glass feel to your paint by removing bonded contaminants from the surface.............. i did a quick cut and past sorry about that

3 .Cleaner: Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner. use a new pad and terry towel for each applaction ok. and dont press down hard u get swril and scrach that way

4.Polish: Meguiar's Deep Crystal Polish is a pure polish specially formulated for dark colored cars. The formula creates a dazzling, high gloss finish by conditioning and nourishing the paint, making dark colors darker and reflections deeper and more clear. It is that extra step necessary to create the ultimate, wet-look show car shine. C/C. this really brings out the deph on my car and makes the black look deep yet again use a new pad and wipe down towl and remember to shake it out and turn it also

5: Wax: now i use two type of wax with the first two coats being this Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax to keep the bead and meguiar's Gold Class Clear Coat Car Wax to keep the uv and uvb sun rays at bay

now this take me a good 4~5 hours to do and it a good stress reliver now the more you do this the better you and your ride will look. iif you need more help then go her and watch the trainning video's

i hoped this helped you. now back to the soju inspection smile.gif ninja.gif

I've heard using clay bars really helps, but you have to be careful. You can only go so deep before you start removing the clear coat and going into the paint. It's not hard to mess up, so be careful

Here it is, the secret you ALL should now about!

1. Go to Wal-Mart
2. Buy 1 bottle of Scratch Out and 1 bottle of 3M Finishing Compound, all found in the automotive paint section usually near the back of the store.
3. Use the Scratch Out first over the entire car to get rid of deep scratches and swirl marks.
4. Now use the 3M over the entire car to put a mirror shine on the vehicle.
5. Wax your car as normal.

Scratch Out is like a 3000 grit suspended abrasive that will take out scratches and swirl marks with some rubbing and patience. It is like a VERY fine rubbing compound. The 3M is an even finer compound that will really put a show room finish on the car. This is a good 4 hour project and a workout in one! But I GUARANTEE you will be happy with the results! I do this once every 1.5-2 years.

Also: this is extremely easy and fool-proof! If you do this by hand, there is no way you will mess up your finish. These products are all clear coat safe and can also be used on plastics/laminated woods and other materials

Cool, thanks tibbytib. I'm sure there will be a couple guys running out to Wallyworld to grab those things, with it being such a nice day out today and supposedly the rest of the week.
